Pit River Health Service, Inc. (PRHS) has two clinics, one is located at the base of the Burney Mountain in Burney, Ca and the other is located on the Pit River Tribal reservation in Alturas, Ca.

PRHS is a non-profit ambulatory health clinic that was first established in 1979 to serve the local community and to primarily focus on the American Indian population.  However, PRHS is open to take Native and non-Native patients alike. Medical services are available to all residents of the Intermountain and surrounding areas, and/or anyone visiting the community.

The Medical team at Pit River Health Service consists of a full time Physician and a nurse practitioner. Both provide medical services and maintain a standard of quality medical care.

The Medical department offers services such as general medicine, family practice, pediatrics, prenatal, gynecology, ambulatory acute care, chronic pain management, and routine health maintenance.

The goal of Pit River Health Service is to have a happy and healthy community. To accomplish that objective, they provide a variety of patient services that cater to specific needs of each individual.
