Kidney Support Group

The Road Back to Life is an organization whose mission is to offer hope, education and mentorship to persons affected by kidney disease. They demonstrate this hope based on their own experiences, that kidney disease is not the end of life. Because of modern treatments and medical advances, many kidney patients receive the gift of enjoying a continued life.

Who We Are
Each of the mentors at the Road Back to Life Kidney Support Group (website is KidneySupportGroup.org) is either a dialysis patient or a transplant recipient, and as such has experienced many of the same concerns as other kidney patients. They have had many of the same questions, and have found answers. They too, have felt misunderstood and have had fears and found ways to overcome them.

Having experienced the lifestyle changes that occur with kidney disease, the Mentors and those who help at the Road Back to Life are able to help navigate the road ahead. There have been many difficult choices. But with the support of fellow successful kidney patients, life can be less of a challenge and can even be fun and fruitful.

Working in conjunction with dialysis centers The Road Back to Life provides patient mentoring in both group sessions as well as individually. They also help patients by meeting with new dialysis center staff and answering any questions and concerns they might have about working with patients. They participate in pre-dialysis patient education and community education programs. You can read more about this wonderful organization at KidneySupportGroup.org . They are based out of Washington, CA.
